Homework Club is offered to school-aged children. Students are able to work on homework individually or with the help of a staff/volunteer. Staff provide worksheets and ensures that supplies needed for assignments are available. We support the children and youth so they will gain confidence in subjects in which they struggle.
Each Monday along with homework club, OCC hosts M3- Monday Mathematics with Mike. Kids
come together and work on math in fun and interactive ways. Healthy snacks are provided
during Homework Club.
Cozy Cats is a one-hour educational reading program. As reading is an important skill, this particular program is geared toward enhancing children's reading abilities. Also, listening to stories that are delivered in creative ways which allow children the opportunity to expand their imagination. Each week there is something new and creative on the agenda; OCC is dedicated to offering an educational reading program for children that is geared toward making reading a fun, creative and enjoyable experience for children of all reading levels.

The Mega Kids program focuses on character building, asset development and healthy lifestyles.
Staff and volunteers cover topics such as respect, fairness, citizenship and
positive peer interactions. They also provide activities such as games, crafts, music, and special
outings. Children in this program are involved in giving back to the community through
volunteering at local seniors centres, community clean-up and much more .
Each PA Day has a different theme and outing. Children arrive at the Centre between 9 and 10 am. We participate in various games, crafts and in the afternoon we go on an outing. For more information check out Burloaks calendar or call 906-631-1218.
Mega Kids Camp is completely recreation-based for children ages 4-10. Each week is themed and follows the following format: Monday – Games/Activities; Tuesday – Craft am and Volunteering pm; Wednesday – Games/Activities am and Swimming pm; Thursday – Games/Activities am, Fundraising pm and Friday – Large all-day Outing.
During the Teens Rock program we provide a safe environment to learn life and social skills
such as woodworking, budgeting and cooking. We discuss and learn about many topics such as
anger management, conflict resolution, healthy relationships, etc. Teens Rock also has a strong
recreational component; teens can participate in organized sports, games and activities that keep
everyone active and healthy.
We also support youth in receiving 40 community services hour.
